Hey, I'm reading your FAQ page, and it doesn't address a Q that I would think is FA... what gives?

Good point! Please submit your question here and we will add it to this page!

What's the link to the customer portal?

It's right here!

I want my dog to attend daycare. Can you tell me more about the requirements?

Absolutely! NYS law requires all dogs attending daycare to have received their core vaccinations - rabies, adenovirus (canine hepatitis), parvo, parainfluenza, and distemper - within the last 3 years.  The core vaccinations are often administered together, under an acronym like DAPP, DA2PP, or DHPP, except rabies which is a standalone vaccination.

The law ALSO requires vaccination against bordetella (kennel cough) within the last 6 months. As some veterinarians only administer this vaccine every 9 or 12 months, it is very important that we have the date of administration on record when submitting proof of vaccination.

We require physical records of all vaccinations - you can either bring in a copy, or have your vet e-mail these records to us directly.

How many dogs do you walk at a time?

We walk a maximum of 3 dogs together per walker.

Are you insured?

Yes! BrooklynBowWow is a registered and legal LLC that is fully bonded and insured. Our insurance covers your pet and your apartment and belongings.

Can my dog be walked at an exact time every day?

We greatly prefer to arrive at the same time, every time. For midday service, we ask for a two hour window, centered on your ideal walk time, and work out a regular walk time within that window that meets your dog's needs. We are extremely flexible and can accommodate more specific timing for puppies or under other circumstances.

Can you feed my dog and/or give it a pill?

Absolutely, at no extra cost. We also handle cleanup after accidents or garbage invasions, putting on winter gear and towelling off mud. Our service prepares your dog for the rest of its day.

How many walkers work with BrooklynBowWow?

We currently have 6 dog walkers on staff.

I'm going out of town, can you visit my dog?

We can arrange visits if there is a second party with spare keys in case of emergencies. We strongly prefer to board dogs in these cases!

How will I know you came to walk my dog?

We will text you after your dog's walk to let you know how it went, or leave a note or email if you prefer.

Do you have an Instagram?

Yes we do! It's at http://instagram.com/brooklynbowwow. Mainly, it's pictures of dogs.

How do I know your walkers are the best?

We offer free meet and greets with all of our walkers upon request, so you can see for yourself! All of our walkers are trained with each dog with Melody or Mitch before they start solo walks with them. All of our walkers have previous animal care experience, and each member of our team goes above and beyond to ensure each pet is getting the love, attention and exercise it deserves.

What if something bad happens?

In over 2 years of operation we have never had a dog receive more than a minor scratch on our watch. However, should the worst happen, we are prepared. We are trained in dog first aid by Dr. Natara Loose and we have specific plans of action for different kinds of injury. Our insurance covers harm to dogs, people and property.

Do you recommend any local vets, trainers, groomers, or pet stores? How about walkers in other neighborhoods?
